GO TOROS!!!

Every Friday is school spirit day at Rockwell and the kids enjoy wearing t-shirts instead of their regular collared uniform shirts.  Sydney is also sporting some added spirit with her "GO TOROS" hair ribbon that is almost as big as her head (still cute though)!!  

Back to school for the Tucker children!

We love Mr. Thorpe!!  He's the bus driver and he makes back to school time so much more fun!!    They're actually very excited and ready to jump into a new year of challenges.  Well, ok, maybe they're just happy to see all their friends and once homework and tests begin they may change their minds, but they both love their teachers and have had a good start to the year.

We are so excited that our community pool is FINALLY  open!!  The pool was supposed to be finished last summer before we even moved into our house, but it was 9 months after our move before they even broke ground and a long HOT 3 months later before we could dive in!  It was well worth the wait and we enjoy it every day with our neighborhood friends.  And... as you can see, we are also having BIG FUN with the underwater camera... happy swimming everyone!

We've hired a new lawn guy...Hayden!

The new landscaping company is working out great!  The new guy does a fantastic job and he's cheap... a couple of pieces of raisin bread, some bacon and the occasional dollar here and there and we've got a deal!  By the way, this is my first successful attempt to post a movie... so click the play button and watch our new lawn boy in action!  Way to go Hayden!!

Happy Summer Everyone!

Yesterday was the last day of school and the kids were definitely ready for some fun.  It was stormy off and on all day, but they were able to jump on the trampoline in the rain and get in a good solid hour on the slip-n-slide.  Good times!

STUDENT OF THE MONTH!!!

Sydney was chosen student of the month back in March and she was very excited about it! She was given a special ribbon to wear and her picture was taken to display in the office for the whole month of March! Little did we know that she would also be in the newspaper! We are so proud of her!!! I know the picture isn't the clearest, but Sydney is on the far right in the second row. Congratulations Sydney!!

Slip-n-slide fun in the sun!!

Hayden and Sydney pooled their tooth fairy money and bought a Slip-n-Slide to enjoy over spring break, but for most of the week it was too cold.. only 39 degrees on Tues night! Fortunately it warmed up as the week went on and by yesterday it was 80! They had a lot of fun on their last day of vacation!

Beach Puppy!

Casey LOVES the beach! She bounds out into the waves to fetch her tennis stick over.. and over ,,, and over.. as many times as we will throw it! She loves to dig in the sand and chase the poor little sandpipers... and, of course... her favorite thing to do is shake freezing cold water off on the driest family member she can find!! Never a dull moment at the beach with Casey!!!

Sydney's Dance Portraits

Sydney had formal portraits taken last Sat. for her dance recital program. She looks so grown up ... our baby girl! She will be performing in 4 different dances.. tap, jazz and 2 hip-hop numbers at a big theatre in Mobile on Mother's Day! What a treat!

Fun with Bill !!

Bill is in Pensacola for a training course this month and he drove over for a visit (twice!) We would love to have seen his whole family, but it was great to see Bill and the kids had a lot of fun with him. Thanks for taking the time to come visit!

San Francisco Trip

Happy Easter!!!

The kids enjoyed their treats from the Easter Bunny and had lots of fun hunting.. hiding..hunting ..and rehiding eggs in the back yard. We all missed Daddy though.. he left on a 2 week trip to San Francisco very early this morning. We hope he has an exciting trip and doesn't work too hard. Have fun Daddy... and Happy Easter everyone!

We got a package form Auntie Traci today and it was full of great gifts and a very funny card for Daddy.

Rob's New Toy

Rob was a good sport about spending most of his birthday helping to chaperone Sydney's sleep over guests that stayed until mid afternoon on Sat. Needless to say, his birthday was overshadowed just a tad by the Leap Year birthday extravaganza, but he did have a chance to run to Lowe's and pick up a new toy... a chain saw! All in all, both birthdays went well. Many thanks to everyone for the cards, gifts, e-mails and phone calls that made both birthdays so special!

Sydney's Fabulous Birthday Sleepover

Hooray for Leap Day!!! Sydney Finally gets a "Real" Birthday! Happy 8th Birthday Syd!

As everyone knows leap year is very exciting in the Tucker household because Sydney has an actual birthday. I'm sure she will be so happy that I posted this early morning picture of her with her lovely bedhead, but we all wanted to get an early satrt on the day given that it only comes once every 4 years. She opened a few presents and went off to school very excited for her sleepover party tonight. Happy Leap Day Everyone!

Happy Mardi Gras Everyone !!!

Mardi Gras is huge here in Mobile!! There have been parades every day for the last 5 days and they throw beads and moon pies and stuffed animals and cups (those can really hurt if you take one to the head) to the crowd as the floats go by. We haven't actually ventured over to downtown Mobile because it's a little too crazy over there, but the kids have had a great time and we all have lots of Mardi Gras loot!
